The Wabash and Southwood girls basketball teams each won non-conference matches last week.

The ability to not only make a tackle or spike a volleyball, but to also use proper English or compute a math problem was the focus of the Dec. 13 meeting of Wabash City School’s board of trustees meeting.

Northfield continued its hot streak with two wins last week, while Manchester won its first game of the season in Wabash County girls basketball action last week.

The Southwood and Wabash boys basketball teams picked up non-conference wins, while Northfield and Manchester each suffered losses.

The Manchester and Wabash boys and girls swim teams lost head-to-head meets to Rochester last week.

The Manchester wrestling team defeated Tippecanoe Valley on the road to highlight Wabash County wrestling last week.

Northfield boys won two games last week by defeating South Adams and Southern Wells, while Manchester and Wabash each lost over the weekend.

Northfield swept the field at the Wabash County Meet on their home mats Saturday, Dec. 4.

The Norse finished 3-0 against the three county rivals, Manchester, Southwood, and Wabash, and defeated Southern Wells and Blackford to round out the 6-team tournament.

Northfield defeated Wabash 54-30, Manchester 45-28, and Southwood 65-18. They added a 66-12 win over Southern Wells and a 52-21 victory over Blackford.
