The Manchester boys and girls track teams kicked off the season Thursday, March 28, by running past Central Noble. The Lady Squires won 79-43, while the boys cruised to an 82-40 victory.

The Lady Squires took first place  in ten of 15 events, second place in nine of 15 events and third place in five of 11 events.

The boys track team took first place in ten of 15 events, second place in ten of 15 events, and third place in five of 11 events.

The Squires next event will take place on Tuesday, April 9 at 5 p.m. against Rochester and Wabash, at Rochester.

Wabash High School senior boys basketball player, Breyton Nealis, has been named to the Hoosier Boys Top 100 2012-2013 team.

Roger Davis, a senior at Wabash High School, was invited to the Under Armour Baseball Factory National tryouts in Indianapolis on March 10 and on March 13. He was officially invited to compete in the Omaha National World Series in June.

Southwood High School held its winter awards ceremony.

Varsity cheerleaders earning a varsity chevron were Kimberly Gallagin, Michelle McLane, Mikala Metter, Morgan Thompson, Corrine Burnley, McKenna Marsh, Morgan Miller, Karsten Kersey, Brett Wyatt.

Manchester High School held their winter awards ceremony last week. Participants in girls’ basketball, wrestling, boys’ basketball, girls’ swimming, boys’ swimming and cheerleading were honored.

The Northfield varsity boys' basketball team ended their season at Tipton Saturday, falling to Wapahani 66-43 in their opening  game of the regional.

The Northfield junior high wrestling team won the Running Rivers Conference Tournament at Northfield, Friday night.  

All the Northfield wrestlers placed to help the Norse win the tournament.
