The 2022-23 Wabash Valley Music Association Series is on sale now. The series includes six musical, vocal, dance, and Broadway performances at the Honeywell Center, offering a savings of up to 62 percent compared to purchasing each show individually.

WVMA members have the benefit of selecting seats which are reserved for every show of the series. Members also receive invitations to receptions held before each performance. Series prices are $75, $140, and $175, depending on seat location. Students through high school are half price.

Wabash High School freshman spent part of her summer vacation helping others in her community.

Kalli Davis, 13, spent July gathering food donations for the Friends in Service Here (F.I.S.H.) food pantry. She delivered the food on Monday, Aug. 1.

U.S. Rep. Jackie Walorski is being remembered as someone who worked hard on behalf of Hoosiers everywhere.
Walorski, 58 was killed Wednesday afternoon in an Elkhart County two-vehicle automobile accident. She represented Wabash County in Indiana's Second Congressional District.

Also killed were Walorski's communications director, Emma Thomson, and Zachery Potts, her district director, and Edith Schmucker, 56, Napanee, the driver of the other vehicle.

Generations Pizza, LLC has announced the recent purchase of Wabash Pizza King from Billy and Kim Osborne effective July 22, 2022. 

Co-owned by brother and sister duo, Joe Schuler and Abby Waldon, the business will operate under the name Pizza King Wabash.  Schuler and Waldon will work with Osborne over the next few months to ensure a smooth transition.

A local family is celebrating the joy of their child’s good health and paying it forward through continued efforts to bolster local blood donation.

Andrew and Jade (Kennedy) Adamiec are helping to coordinate the seventh blood drive in honor of their son, Kole, who recently defeated cancer and will celebrate his seventh birthday this month.

After searching for more than two decades, a local arts nonprofit organization is ready to finally show off its new facility to the community.

Wabash Area Community Theater (WACT) will host a public open house in early August to show the transformation of the South Side property.

Situated at 1620-1640 S. Wabash St., Wabash, what has been dubbed “The WACTory” by the organization’s Board of Directors will be the location of the event, which will include guided tours, live entertainment for visitors and a backstage look at the set for WACT’s upcoming fall musical, “Guys and Dolls.” The event will take place from 6-7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7.

We join together as civic and business leaders to underscore the importance of providing a competitive K through 12 public education for all of the current and future students of Wabash County. Our current and future students deserve nothing less. 

Further, the availability of top tier public education as compared to other Indiana communities is critical for population growth, attracting new residents and employees to Wabash County, and to entice existing and new employers to fully invest in Wabash County. We ask that Wabash County’s officials convene a group of Wabash County leaders and citizens who will develop a vision and pathway for a county-wide solution to a competitive and sustainable K through 12 educational offering for Wabash County.

The Metropolitan School District of Wabash County is one step closer to seeing whether it will get the go-ahead for a $115 million construction and consolidation project that school corporation officials hope will make the district viable for decades to come.

At the regular meeting of MSDWC’s board of trustees July 12, Superintendent Mike Keaffaber told the board that enough registered voters had signed a petition to get the issue on the upcoming Election Day ballot.
