Soil health starts with you! It starts where and how you grow your food!

Learn the definition of soil health, different aspects of soil health, benefits of no till and cover crop. Learn how to collect and interpret soil tests and see soil demonstrations. 

If this interests you, come to this event hosted by the Wabash County Soil and Water Conservation District and Wabash County Purdue Extension for a Master Gardener Soil Health 101 on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2022 at the Wabash Christian Church Community Gardens located at 80 W Sinclair Street, Wabash from 1:30-3:30 p.m.

85 Hope to offer various services in October

85 HOPE Free Medical Clinic is hosting several opportunities in October for Wabash County women to obtain preventative health care.

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, 85 HOPE Free Medical Clinic of Wabash County will host their annual “Mammo Month” event throughout the month of October and offer several opportunities for Wabash County women to receive an order for a free 3-D mammogram at Parkview Wabash Hospital.

Grow Wabash County offers E-Commerce help

Grow Wabash County invites for-profit small businesses in Wabash County to apply for its new E-Commerce coaching program presented in partnership with Cyclone Social.

This E-Commerce program will allow for 10 to 12 small businesses in Wabash County to receive high quality instruction and support to help them develop an e-commerce platform to sell their goods and/or services online. These coaching sessions will take place one-on-one between business owners and members of the Cyclone Social team and together they will take a holistic approach to creating and maintaining a successful e-commerce website.

Noted Irish crooner coming to Honeywell

Fans of country music and traditional Irish ballads will have a chance to hear one of the most noted vocalists in the genre perform for the first time in Wabash on Oct. 1.

Irish singer Daniel O’Donnell comes to the Honeywell Center, making his debut at the venue with a 7:30 p.m. start time.

Let There Be Light event planned Sept. 4

A local church is hosting, for the third time in as many years, a free event designed to squash the growing epidemic of drug addiction and overdose among local residents battling chemical dependency.

The Christian Fellowship Church of North Manchester announced last week the third annual Let There Be Light event, to be held Sept. 4 from 7 to 11 p.m. at the 13-24 Drive-In in Wabash.

MSD board replies to community letter

The school board for Metropolitan School District of Wabash County, at the end of its latest board meeting, responded to a recent open letter from members of the Wabash County community, calling on a comprehensive education plan, on a county-wide basis. The following is MSDWC’s response to that letter:

“On behalf of the 2,217 students and the associated parents and guardians, teachers, and staff who selected the Metropolitan School District (MSD) of Wabash County as their educational choice, we wanted to respond to a recent letter published by some members of the community. The letter advocated for educational reforms to ensure a positive future for our community and our schools.

Crossroads Bank named 2022 Business of the Year

Grow Wabash County officials are thrilled to announce that Crossroads Bank has been selected as the 2022 Business of the Year and will be honored during Grow Wabash County’s Annual Dinner Celebration on Thursday, Oct. 13, at the Honeywell Center.
