The Wabash American Legion Post No.15 will host a “Raise the Roof Hog Roast” on Saturday, June 24.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will be used to replace the roof on the building, as well as to make other needed building repairs, according to Steve Conner and Ross Martin, members of the posts building committee.

Louise Friermood, an 89-years-young Wabash County resident, began her first fishing lesson Saturday, June 3, at the Bluegill Fishing Clinic with a smile on her face.

“I need to know a little bit about fishing,” Friermood told The Paper of Wabash County. “I don’t go very often. It wasn’t my husband’s favorite thing to do, but we went a few times. I know a little bit (about fishing), but my fishing was with a cane pole, the old-fashioned way.”

Wabash County members of the REALTORS Association of Central Indiana donated funds and supplies to the Wabash County Animal Shelter on Monday, June 5, to support the local organization’s cause. Wabash County members of the Realtors Association of Central Indiana donated funds and supplies to the Wabash County Animal Shelter Monday, June 5, to support the organization’s cause.

“Realtors don’t just sell real estate, we support our community,” Amy Pate, RACI executive vice president, said. “The Wabash County Animal Shelter serves a great need in our community and we are thankful for the opportunity to come alongside them.”

Troxel Equipment Co. celebrated its Wabash facility’s remodeling and expansion with a ribbon cutting and open house Friday, June 9.

Located at 834 N. State Road 13 in Wabash, the supply company offers both new and used John Deere agricultural, commercial, consumer and skid steer equipment as well as grain storage, drying and handling equipment and other name brand products.
